[ 메디채널 관리자 기자 ] 과학기술정보통신부(장관 유상임, 이하 '과기정통부')는 10월 17일(목) 제37차 신기술,서비스 심의위원회(이하 '심의위원회')를 개최하여, 총 15건의 규제특례를 지정하였다고 밝혔다. 먼저, 심의위원회는 나날이 고도화‧지능화되는 사기전화(보이스 피싱) 범죄를 사전에 예방할 수 있도록 '실시간 통화기반 사기전화 탐지 서비스(KT+국립과학수사연구원(이하 국과수))'에 대해 실증특례를 지정하였다. 인공지능 기술과 실제 사기전화 통화 데이터가 결합함으로써, 글자(문서)를 기반으로 분석하는 경우보다 탐지 정확도를 높일 수 있게 되었다. 이를 위해 과기정통부와 개인정보보호위원회는 KT, 국과수와 함께 정보주체 권익침해를 최소화하기 위한 강화된 안전조치를 마련하였으며, 향후 동 서비스의 안전성과 효과성을 주기적으로 점검할 예정이다. 이번 특례는 신기술을 통해 사회 문제를 해결하면서도 동시에 개인정보는 보호하는 접점을 찾는 기회가 될 것으로 예상되며, 누구나 노출될 수 있는 범죄로부터 일반 국민들의 일상을 안전하게 보호해 줄 것으로 기대된다. 이어 주민등록번호 대신 연
