유니온페이, 결재망 확충으로 사용 가능한 유럽 국가 및 지역 90% 넘어서
[ 메디채널 황정호 기자 ] 마드리드 2025년 9월 26일 -- 유니온페이 인터내셔널(UnionPay International: UPI)은 오늘 유럽 전역에 원활한 결제 환경을 구축하는 데 의미심장한 진전을 이루었다고 발표했다. 90% 이상의 유럽 국가와 지역에 유니온페이 결재망이 구축됨에 따라 현지인과 해외 여행객이 안전하고 편리한 유니온페이 신용카드로 결제할 수 있게 되었다는 것이다. 유니온페이의 유럽 입지는 모든 주요 결제 방식에서 두드러진다. 실제로, POS 단말기를 갖춘 80% 이상의 가맹점에서 유니온페이 카드를 받고 있으며, 대중교통, 식당, 호텔, 슈퍼마켓, 관광지 출입 게이트 등 600만 개 이상의 가맹점에서 유니온페이 퀵패스(UnionPay QuickPass) 비접촉식 결제가 지원된다. 2025년 이후 두 배 이상 증가한 여러 유럽 국가의 유니온페이 퀵패스 결제 건수에서 짐작할 수 있듯, 유니온페이 사용자와 가맹점이 눈에 띄게 증가하는 추세이다. 내로라하는 소매업체와 호텔업체들이 유니온페이를 자사 서비스에 통합했다. 유럽 공항 면세점, 프랑스의 라파예트 백화점(Galeries Lafayette), 영국의 해러즈
